Natural Acne Remedies

Acne is a common skin condition that many teenagers and even adults suffer with.  Looking for ways to treat this embarrassing condition, some people go through many lotions and creams and even turn to their dermatologist to keep their acne under control.  However, there are natural acne remedies to help get rid of acne and stop it from spreading.

Known for its antibacterial properties, honey is one of the natural remedies that can help get rid of acne.  Honey rejuvenates the skin, making it feel softer and look brighter.  However, using it as a face mask may be slightly messy.  Instead, try using the honey as a spot treatment or mixing a drop in the face wash you use.

Lemon acts as a natural toner for your skin as it contains citric acid.  It clears dead skin, in addition, promotes the growth of new skin cells.  Lemon also clears pores and keeps skin fresh.  Using a cotton pad, gently dab the lemon juice on your face after washing.  If it stings your face, dilute it with some water.  Because lemon is acidic, rinse the lemon juice off of your skin after fifteen minutes. As it can be a very strong remedy, try not to use it too often.

Cucumbers are one of the most well known natural acne remedies due to it being high in calcium, amino acids and vitamin C. It has moisturizing qualities, which can cool and soothe the skin, leaving it smooth and supple.  Try blending the cucumber into a paste and apply to your cleansed face. Rinse after ten to fifteen minutes and you may notice less swelling of your acne.

Mint is a gentle yet quick solution for acne, it helps to reduce the redness and swelling of the acne. To use mint as a natural acne remedy, you can mash the mint leaves and make it into a paste, add some water and use it as a face mask. A bonus to using mint is the lovely aroma. Wash off the paste after ten to fifteen minutes. As it is gentle in nature, mint can be used regularly as a natural acne treatment.

If you are looking for natural remedies for acne, these are some ingredients you can try to solve your acne problem.  You’ll never know, these natural remedies might work better for you than medications, lotions and creams.  They don’t contain any preservatives and harmful substances that could harm your skin and further agitate the problem.  Other than a great and regular skincare routine, a balanced and healthy diet also play a vital role in flawless and smooth skin.
